The water filter does not have to be ordered separately when ordering the device!The filter flows from bottom to top and contains the following elements:1. Filter membrane and fleece with 1 µ depth filtration.The filter membrane with 1 µ pore diameter serves to stabilize and retain suspended matter.Activated carbon filter | Made in South Korea - Made in South KoreaActivated carbon has the property of accumulating (adsorbing) chlorine and organic substances (drug residues, hormones, pesticides, herbicides) as well as heavy metals in high percentages. Silver vapor deposition protects the activated carbon from germ contamination. (Side note: We consider it irresponsible to use an activated carbon granulate filter WITHOUT silver vapor deposition. The silver dose is minimal, and even if one or two silver atoms should come loose, the amount that can come out of the filter over the course of the filter's life is significantly less than at a one-time meal with a silver spoon.)The calcium granules are made from high-quality sea corals and are an additional source of high-quality calcium, which is the basis for reliable ionization of the water.The activated carbon filter with silicon bio-ceramic is suitable for most applications because it has a high activated carbon capacity.With regard to the choice of filter, it should be noted that the risk of bacterial contamination is generally considered to be relatively low given the water quality prevailing in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. The growth of bacteria on the activated carbon substrate is usually effectively prevented by silver vapor deposition on the activated carbon.Regular use of the filter and running cold water through it will continue to limit bacterial growth. We therefore recommend that if the water system is not being used for a long period of time, remove the filter and place it in the refrigerator (not the freezer) in a clean plastic bag.Should bacteria nevertheless break through the various barriers and escape from the filter, most of them will be destroyed in the electrolysis unit.This replacement filter fits the following water ionizersPlease note, this filter does not fit the Aquion Home, which also has the designation JP101.
