Description In essence, Shotball is a small-game hunting or rodent-killing projectile manufactured for 68 caliber markers or slingshots. Proudly South African, there are currently 4 types in production : 1 – #6 11 gram – Suitable for Higher Velocity Launchers (approx 16 Joules plus) and any slingshot, contains about 80 small lead pellets. 2 – #6 6 gram – Suitable for Standard Velocity Launchers (from about 7.5 Joules plus) and any slingshot, contains about 40 small lead pellets. 3 – AAA 11 gram – Suitable for Higher Velocity Launchers (approx 16 Joules plus) and any slingshot, contains about 10 x 5mm lead pellets. 4 – AAA 6 gram – Suitable for Standard Velocity Launchers (from about 7.5 Joules plus) and any slingshot, contains about 6 x 5mm lead pellets. The #6 round is a fill of many tiny lead pellets that are released on impact and this makes great for rodents and snakes primarily as multiple penetration into the soft tissue of the target is nearly guaranteed. Even if the shot is placed on a hard surface just before your target, the scatter should affect the target to a significant degree. The AAA round is a similar concept with more than about 10 larger lead pellets and is generally the more destructive of the 2 as you may see in the videos below, suitable more for game upto the size of a large cat, or some destructive target practice. WARNINGS, LOADING & STORAGE GUIDELINES: It is strongly advised to be fired outdoors only, and away from humans as could be fatal or very harmful if impacted on soft tissue. Do not fire at too close range from your target as there is a ricochet hazard against hard surfaces and also breaks glass very easily even at low velocity. If using for targets, do not shoot against bouncy or flexible materials as in most cases the ball may not break and bounce in unwanted directions. As this is a heavy impact round, shells may break easily even if dropped a little too hard – do not throw or fast-dump into your hopper – they should be gently loaded a few at a time, and similar in the case of spring and rotary magazine fed markers too. If you have preloaded into a hopper for future use, ensure that your marker is in a position that doesn’t shake vigorously to avoid the rounds bumping against each other. Be careful not to drop the ten round tube it is supplied with even if multiple tubes are stored into a box or larger container.
